Really disappointed in the performance of the car. Sure, the manual might be a bit faster, but the numbers I'm seeing are overall very disappointing. The old V6 with Performance Pack would smoke that car.
Meh. I really thought this was going to be awesome.
Edit: Changed title so as not to incite flaming/rager comments.

It sounds fine so long as you aren't attempting 10/10ths hole shots or lapping. Strong midrange, good features, etc.
I agree with MT that it's a great daily car, but it's not anything like a GT. Or the old V6.

I didn't expect GT performance. But I expected it to best the old V6 pretty handily.
Will have to see how the manual goes, but it sounds like the auto wasn't bad.

The new one is a bit heavier than the old car if trim levels are compared, and mountains of torque, while helpful, aren't the be all end all.
Since the 3.7L V6 is allegedly on offer with the new Mustang, I'd like to see that back to back with the EcoBoost.

I don't get why the 60 ft times seem to be so horrid on these cars. 2.2 seconds for the GT as tested by R&T. What gives?

Me too. I have a feeling it may be faster still. And that Ford is purposefully underrating it to make the Ecoboost look better.

I think you guys are missing the whole point of the Boostang: Chip Tunes. +60hp for $600.

Is that confirmed?
I personally like to keep my vehicle stock outside of suspension and wheels and tires.

I was curious so I looked Motor Trend's review of the '05 Mustang GT … just to see.
Its dyno chart looks like this.
and it did the 60mph run in 5.1 seconds.
Its funny how both cars need to be short shifted at almost the same rpm.
(just incase someone didn't read the MT article the new EB 'stang makes 279hp and 295lbft at the wheels)
